Revamping Legacy Systems: Andosi Helps Microram Implement Dynamics 365 BC and Sales for Streamlined Quoting and Ordering
A leader in electronic component brokering, Microram Electronics, Inc. of Oldsmar, Florida, knew that it was time to modernize their business systems. Historically, Microram was known for their focus on quality and durability, rigorously testing every component they sold. But as their business grew, their ancient ERP system was holding them back. It was slow, clunky, and couldn't keep up with the fast-paced changes in our modern world.
Microram knew that they needed to modernize. They also knew that they needed help. They were referred to Andosi by a mutual business partner and found that Andosi was a perfect fit for their needs.
The leaders of MicroRam clearly understand the potential of modern technology and the potential of Microsoft's connected future, with one system, one login, artificial intelligence, and integrated communications across the Microsoft Office and Dynamics 365 families. Andosi helped shape the details of that vision, working closely with Microram to create a path to modern systems that will efficiently drive new business into the foreseeable future.
The first step was to replace MicroRam’s legacy system with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) and Dynamics 365 Sales. Andosi also created a data warehouse that kept MicroRam’s historical data available in real-time. Andosi knew that Microram needed a system that would make it easy for users to enter and edit data quickly. Andosi modified their proprietary distributor’s ‘Quote Workbench’ to include electronic broker-specific features and components. The result was the Andosi ‘Broker’s Workbench’.
The Broker Workbench replaces the standard Dynamics 365 interface, with a clean interface that helps the sellers be as efficient as possible. Among its many time-saving features is the ability to enter new parts on the fly. The system is smart enough to automatically connect new parts to existing ones, reducing errors and increasing efficiency.
When a customer opportunity requests pricing, Microram likewise, utilizes Dynamics 365 to issue Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) from THEIR vendors which is then used to analyze the opportunity. In addition to preparing to execute the customer opportunity, this extended functionality of Dynamics 365 Sales provides the sales and management teams with the sophistical financial data, analysis and projections needed to manage their process. Further, when their customer places the order, the system simultaneously generates a PO to their supplier and an sales order from their customer, into their ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
As a result of implementing Microsoft’s Power Platform with the Business Central and Sales apps, MicroRam has created a foundation from which to grow by adding additional technological capability as well as their sales and operations without much additional effort and are well on their way to fulfilling their ultimate vision of using technology to sell more products, more profitably and with more efficiency.
