Rebuilding/customizing Quote Workbench

The US entity of Ingram Micro had developed a ‘Quote Workbench’ that allowed the sales team, who processed thousands of quotes per day, to create and process quotes efficiently while integrating with their back-office ERP system. As the system became outdated and approached its maximum capacity, the team knew they needed assistance building a solution that was capable of expanding and bringing Ingram Micro further into the future.

Project Phase I

Create Quote Workbench

The Andosi team was tasked with modernizing the system to include
the following:

  1. Make the system scalable across the globe
  2. Make the system more supportable and much more efficient.
  3. Use modern tools and methods that were not available when the tool was originally built.

The Quote Workbench tool was recreated from scratch using Microsoft
Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Power Automate, React and
custom integrations to meet all of the project goals and in the decided
upon timeframe.

The Outcome

Completion of the all-new Quote Workbench tool brought the company great success:

  • Modern Tech, Less bulk (10,000 lines of code reduced down to <4,000)
  • UX improvements (layout and screen functions) = greater efficiency and a useful experience for the users creating quotes

The process improvements and changes made to this system allowed
existing users to increase profits by at least $10,000,000 a year.

Project Phase II

Globalization of Quote Workbench

After the foundation was built, it was time to deploy globally. Andosi was responsible for the technology backbone, data dictionaries, requirements, system design including user interface, project management and project coordination with other departments. The global roll-out meant special attention needed to be made for international system requirements. This not only included the ability to handle all currencies and languages in the more than 40 countries that Ingram Micro does business, but also allowed for different operating procedures in each of those countries. Andosi was able to get two additional countries up and running successfully in a matter of a few months.

Empowered, With Continued Support

The success of the initial global roll-out empowered Ingram Micro to build their own implementation and project teams to expand on the technical and deployment foundation that Andosi created. Our team continued to be an integral part of their team for several years, travelling to Europe, Asia and Australia to assist with the design and deployment of unique requirements as well as helping to solve complex technical challenges in various countries.
